Quick answer

The three role dimensions are DPS (damage output), BREAK (defence/guard breaking) and Sustain (healing and staying power). The official full role list and per-creature roles are confirmed at launch.

In Aniimo a creature's role is at least as important as its element when you build a team. Official material describes battle roles in three dimensions: dealing damage, breaking enemy defences, and sustaining your party.

DPS — damage dealers

A DPS creature is the main damage source of a team. In Aniimo's battle loop you want at least one reliable attacker whose element covers the opponent's weakness.

BREAK — defence and guard breaking

BREAK creatures specialise in breaking through enemy defences — guard, shields or similar mechanics — which opens windows for your DPS. A team with strong BREAK coverage turns longer fights into quick ones.

Sustain — healing and staying power

  • Sustain covers healing, shields and durability.
  • In longer battles and PvP, sustain decides who outlasts whom.
  • The exact skills, however, are not officially published before launch.

Building role coverage

The practical rule for any team: cover all three role dimensions with your creatures, then balance elements on top. Our team builder scores exactly this — role coverage and element coverage, using launch-verified data only.

Role framing

Steam/official materials describe battle roles in terms of damage, breaking and sustain (DPS / BREAK / Sustain). No pre-launch per-creature role list is official.
